it probably wont have any sever damage like that, but you should feel for shaft play. just get ahold of the wheel inside the compressor housing with your fingers, try to move it side to side, or forward backwards. forward back is bad, side to side not so bad as long as its not a huge amount of play

I will...thanks guys! You guys are all life savers to us new guys. I feel like a freakin idiot for not asking about the venting before now. I checked my turbo a few weeks ago, and the fins looked good and virtually no play any direction on the turbo. I did have some oil in the accordian hose though, so I need to fix up a catch can next.

Yeah i need cooleeze hard pipes :,( but yeah man you got it right for the oil diag. CATCH CAN FTW. Just added a homemade on myself and I'm inthe process of cleaning intercooler and pipes.

Thanks! I have a set of shaved and black powdercoated cam covers I am going to put on real soon, and change all the hoses and stuff to red. I am going to do a compression check, adjust the lifters, and change the plugs when I change the covers.

That's what were here for Aaron. So I guess we figured out the bov problem. Your boost pressure issue I'm still a bit cloudy on. Maybe I'm just tired. So you hooked up a MBC, turned up the boost, and still are only hitting 5 or 6psi max?? Is it hooked up correctly?

Keep us updated on how the adjustment goes. And one more thing. Where the hell do you work this late at night, and are able to be on teh intardnet, and get paid for it?

EDIT: Whoa, whoa, whoa. I just went through this thread again and saw that you had stated you have an ELECTRONIC boost controller. Duh, I must be tired. Nevermind the last half of my post.

yes make sure you have it correct. just swap the hoses and see what happens. also most mbc's are shipped at the lowest boost setting. so even if you turn it up a little, it may not even be set the boost level your already at stock, just turn it up a good amount and see what happens, if anything youll hit fuel cut, and youll know. then just slowly turn it down.

EDIT: lol, did the same thing dunkel. still switch the hoses on the boost solenoid, and see if it changes, maybe there just backwards. what kind of ebc is it?

ok I am back. I am now VENTING! YEAH! ok I have a Greddy ProspecII EBC.
I am not sure if it is hooked up right or not. I will try switching the hoses tomorrow. I bought it this way. I have fixed several little thing that added up to a weaker than hell car when I first got it. The guy put a JDM engine and tranny in it, and never could get it right. I guess he got fed up and sold it to me cheap. I am getting there with the car. I hope to get it up there to 500 HP within this next year or so. (If I dont blow it up being stupid) LOL
As for my job, I am shift supervisor over security, so I am setting in an office most of the night, and walking around the plant the rest of the time. It is an easy job.

i would suggest running an extra quart of oil in it, just to be safe. and dont run thick oil, despite what some people say its not better, run as thin as you can.

I am running a quart over, and I have 5w30 in there. It is pretty thin stuff. What do you use?
