ok i just put a ssqv bov on my mk3 stock supra. when i rev the engine it dosent make that pshhh noise. do i have to be driving to hear that noise. i tried regulating it lose than tighting it but nothing happens no surge or anything. only running stock 6.8 psi. the way i installed it was i just placed it were the stock bov was and just used bigger tubing. so the bov is attached to the 3000 pipe i figured the closer to the throttle body the better. some one told me that i dont get boost when the car is not moving but i cant tell on account my boost gauge is broken.

i kno the car dosent make alot of boost becasuse of no load on the turbo but shouldent it make atleast 1 or 2 psi just enough to make the bov go off? iv seen bov's go off when in idle and not moving? do u think i have a boost leak?

I can really hear mine open up if I rev it to 6k with the hood open :). But, if your driving its a TON louder, although not possible in your situation :(.

Umm where did you rev it to? Was it just a quick little girlie rev or did you take it up to like 4 K then floor it to near red line before letting off? Thats what I did when I checked on mine

ok made mistake in post i replaced the bpv with the bov. and just used a bigger tube and attached it to the 3000 pipe. would that mess up my fuel n air ratio without the bpv?

my BOV will let air out while revving, but unless there is a load on the motor while driving, my ssqv doesnt make any real noise

My HKS bov will blow off at 4000+rpms while sitting but nowhere near as loud as while driving. Thats the only real way to be sure that I know of. Sucks that your wheel is bent.

This isn't very clear, why don't you spend a little more time describing how you have it installed. Pictures would be great.

How do have the "tube" attached to the bov?

Did you buy a kit that went from an hks flange to a tube outlet?

ok i got the bov flanged already on a 2 inch pipe(vertical). then took out the bpv with its tubing that goes into the 3000 pipe. the hole in the 3000 pipe is 1 inch diameter and the flange is 1.25 in diameter. so i took a high presure rad hose and clamp it to the 2inch pipe and 3000 pipe.

ruber tube goes here then to 3000 pipe

i kno your wondering y wont i just weld the 2inch pipe onto another pipe but i cant because its all aluminum so i decided to use a ruber hose

Basically, it's not going to work unless you are driving the car under load.

They are relatively easy to test, though, check if you can blow air through it. You shouldn't be able to without applying vacuum to the signal nipple.

You need to cap off that old port going into the 3000 pipe where the old bpv was, cap off the port where it dumped back into the accordian hose too for the time being until you get a recirculation fitting for the bpv.

With vacuum applied to the BOV from the same source as it was from the stock bpv (ensure there are no damages to the old vacuum lines) loosen the tentioning nut on the back of the BOV(if you have one) all the way out, then give it a few twists back in just to hold it in there. Now, with the hood open, hold one hand right in front of the bov and use the other to blip the throttle, or rev it hard for about half a second, release the throttle quickly, and you should feel air rushing out of the bov, but will most likely not hear it as the turbo builds nearly zero pressure unless it is under load (pulling the car's weight). If you don't feel the air rush, repeat the process just to make sure. If still nothing, then you have other problems with either your vacuum or the BOV, or both.

Once you have a working BOV you will want to rerout the bypassed air from it back into the accordian hose where the stock bpv was letting the air go. If you don't, you risk bogging down the car, running rich between shifts, misfiring, and stalling.

thats what i was worryied about having idle problems because i got rid of the bpv but i cant reroute the bypassed air on account its a ssqv or can i? im thinking getting rad tubing and just clamping the bov and the the hose were the bpv let the bypassed air into
