Neither of you is actually fully listening or perhaps comprehending what the other is saying.

Intake (the part mounted to the head of the motor)

Turbo Inlet, pre-turbo (pointless and not at all related to BOV, either mounting or operation)

Just before the TB Inlet (on the IC piping, while yes it is closer to the turbo geographically speaking, from a plumbing point of view it is infact far closer to the TB followed by the intake which is what is important here. Not it's location in the engine bay relative to the Turbo or anything else)

Both of you take a deep breath and be nice. The original poster here has different goals and intents for his car and agree or disagree it is his right to choose. Right or wrong, but from a "correct" setup hvyman is correct. Personally I agree with locating it nearest the TB on the IC piping. I don't re-circ myself, but I am also running MAP not MAF.

It seems to me that to get it to recirc correctly it would be a major PITA to do so if the BOV is mounted all the way down and away like just prior to the IC.

So....OP if you are determined to do it that way, then go for it.....it's your right. But it should be after thinking through what some of the other users have said and the downfalls and problems associated with such a relocation.

If you choose to move it and don't recirc it like it is setup now then you will more than likely see stalling/other issues due to the lost air that was metered into the system but as far as your ECU is concerned "disappeared" somewhere unknown. After escaping from your BOV.

Neither have I, but i'm going to keep recirculating anyways. I suppose the ole' tried and true location won't hurt anything. Close to TB it is.
Hvyman, apologies, as we obviously had a HUGE misunderstanding. I still think you're an asshat though. lol :kickinthenuts:

When I tried venting to atmosphere, I would backfire (technically after fire according to Toyota I guess) between shifts, it got annoying fast. I'm not sure why you wanted to put it farther away exactly, is it supposed to be louder if you do that? Just seems like a worse spot to put it in every way I can think of.

You seem to have missed my point.

You're wanting to move it so you get more sound. Moving it will more than likely REDUCE it's sound as it's recirculated and defeat the purpose or recirculating in the first place.

You're trying to have your cake and eat it too...

I don't see how i would be defeating the point of recirculating, I said that no matter where i put the BOV i'm still going to plumb it into the intake. I think that moving it to behind the bumper would A) Make it louder, because the sound waves wouldn't get trapped in the engine bay B) Make it look cleaner (I have a Type S, and i have to run a thousand vacuum lines to it.)
Edit: I think i JUST fully grasped what you were saying. Since it's recirculated, the sound doesn't actually come from the BOV itself, it comes from the intake, so moving it away from the filter element would just make it more quiet, since the released air has to flow farther through the recirc hose. If my BOV WASN'T recirculated, i think my idea would make sense as far as volume is concerned. However since i have it recirculating for the sake of performance, why would i sacrifice responsiveness to try and squeeze out a few more decibels? It's going on the bend right after the 3000 pipe.

you can see my 90 degree reducer to plug it back into the intake..

this pic was test-fitting the hose, I used a 1" aluminum pipe to join the hose and the 90 degree reducer, ran it through where the washer bottle was, and cut a hole so I don't have to bend my hose (plus it's super thick)

Ok im very curious. I had compressor surge on low boost & after a while it started working again but it surges at higher boost. STOCK turbo, stock psi i believe. What kind of BOV other than stock (by pass valve) do you guys recommend. I want to hear all suggestions :drink1:

If the valve functions fine, then you have an issue with the vacuum lines ;)

I just got pwnd... :: lolsign :: But yea what kind of BOV do you recommend? Ill look into the vacuum lines tomorrow, I ACTUALLY have enough time.
