I m installing a ffim, on my 7mgte, but still using my lex maf ( I know it's NOT the best setup ).

My question is about the blowoff valve, It will now be on the L/H side of the engine ( neer TB ), so I will need to run a pipe/hose to the other side of the engine to the acordeon hose ( between maf and turbo ) will this still work cus it will much longer than stock. I dont want to vent to the atmosphere.

I have another BOV ( oem, came with maf from junkyard ) would it help to run 2 of them or it wont help.

thanks.

Just do it right and switch to MAFTPRO. Then you can vent to atmosphere all you want without a problem. Plus it gets rid of the lex afm of course.

I don't see a problem with that set-up. I wouldn't use an OEM BOV at all. I'm running a Greddy RS with the Recirc kit. much stronger than the OEM.

and for the recirc hose, you "could" place the BOV on the charge pipe from the turbo to IC... but ideally you want it close to the TB...

but either use PVC hose, or some copper tubing with some 1'' couplers on the end, and make a custom intake so that way you can have the BOV port on the bottom side of the intake.

Thanks for the info guys,

Lintlars, is your BOV located on the lower side of the black intake pipe, just before the TB ??? very clean and nice engine bay, that is exacly what I want to do with mine.

So What I understand is that the lenght of the piping btw the BOV and intake tube ( before the turbo ) will not affect performance ???, I will still make it as short as possible.

Yes thats where its located thanks for the compliments, Its just to recirculate will have no effect on performance I would have liked to plumb it to a location on the intake side that was less obvious but I did not want to cut into the accordian hose what I did serves the same purpose just less visually appealing.

I have been running my bov to atmosphere for a couple years now with the lex afm. I just have my Idle set a little higher about 750rpms and it does the trick.

Lintlars, that is a really clean engine bay what did you do with all the sensors around the strut towers?

For the passenger side I got rid of the fuel pump resisitor since im running the 12v mod I did not need it the drivers side all sensors are located under the maifold or in that area all holes that were not needed were welded and body filled

yup, very cleen ( your giving me idea's :icon_bigg ).

So basicaly I would only need to set my idle rpm to 750-800 to prevent it from stalling ??? still...

I will try do do it the oem way ( recirculate ) I dont have the stock acordeon hose, the guy that sold me the lex maf + 550cc RC also gave me a aftermarket aluminium pipe ( from suprasport , i think ) it's exacly as the oem but made out of aluminium, so I will re-weld the port ( nipple... ) on the bottom of it and run the hose from the BOV to it ( wont be visible )

By the way would you have any suggestions on good BOV that recirculats ( just c'ant make up my mind ) I'll be boosting to about 14 psi.

Thanks.
