Don't listen to them about the gigabyte board
(EP45-UD3L). It is the exact one i have and everything set up flawlessly. The motherboard is part of the Ultra Durable 3 family, which has had great reviews.
I recently just built a new computer specs are:
1:
Ati HD 4870 made by sapphire (it is amazing!!!!)
2: Gigabyte
EP45-UD3L motherboard
3:
CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W power supply (one of the best for the money)
4:
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) Ill get more when i upgrade to a 64bit operating system.
5: Intel Pentium E5300 2.6GHz dual core (I already had this, but if i were to up grade i would get an "Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache") The E7400 Wolfdale 2.8GHz is a decent choice but it only has 3mb of cache and if had more cache like the E8400 it would help your multi-tasking and editing.
6: My case is an old IBUYPOWER case. The case you picked is decent
7: I also got
ZALMAN 9500A 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler and Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound to help cool my cpu. I have my cpu overclocked :biglaugh: to 3.8GHz and the ZALMAN cools it wonderfully.
8: Most any Logitech product is a good buy for keyboards or mouse. I just got there new illuminated keyboard and a G5 mouse and there amazing.
I would stray away from the OCZ SLI-Ready Dual Channel ram because you may have conflicts with your HD 3650 Video Card since those memory sticks has special setting for Nvidia which make them SLI certified.
I would get
A-DATA ram.
Also i would not get the LG burner but instead get the
Pioneer but that's if you don't want light scribe, personally i have never have used it. But if you want one go with the
LITEON.
The monitor is a great choice it is actually the one i was looking into getting.
The card reader looks decent except you will not be able to charge any USB devices and you wont be able to run a keyboard or mouse unless it has its own power supply as it suggest: "
Note: Front USB Ports Require Self-Powered Accessories".
I know some of my suggestions may go over your budget but it not always a good idea to get the cheapest stuff you can find when building a computer. Also what operating system are you planning on running ( XP or Vista)? Also do you have the disc to install it and a valid product key?
I know i may be missing something if you have any questions about parts or installing or just in general let me know.
