I want to get my car painted before school starts. Which is in 3 weeks. I will be preping myself and let a shop handle the rest. I think I'm going to get it repainted the same or really close to the stock color.

I guess I'll post progress about my center lit tail lights also when I start working on it.

Anyone have tips for preping my car for paint?

Yuck look at my ugly old paint.

Use lots of sandpaper. The trick is to get the old paint mostly off

SHouldnt you vary the grit?

start with maybe 600 and run up to 1500?

Look at when DHL dropped off for me.

Very nice condition. Just 2 nicks that I can live with on the center and the right covers.

The center one is a bit bad though :cry:

I think I'll start working on the light today.. but who knows.

Oh and how deep should I sand for preping the body for paint.

Untill the paint and primer are gone.

Sure some people may mock your lights. I unno. But you know they are JDM overnight from Japan.

overnight for the win, and yeah id vary it.. do a bunch of diffrent grits get it nice and smooth yo!@

Ok I got it open. :icon_evil The center light is painted. Light does show through though. I wonder what I will do..

Welp my car is going to be dropped off tomorrow for paint. I will be painting it the same color because it grew on me :love: . I think I'll start the lights today, if my dad gets me the LED's and whatever else is needed. I'll take some good bye later today and tomorrow morning. About 1 week away from my supra :cry: I don't think I have been so long away from it since i started driving it. :cry:

The only progress I have is that i mounted the pre 89 hatch release lock thing on to my 89+ lights. Tomorrow I think I will will get to putting the LED's in.
