a friend of mine was going to buy a 88 mazda mx-6 turbo
he said that he checked this thing about manual boost controlers
where they put a manual boost controler on the mazda and kick the boost up to like 12-13 psi(stock on that car is like 6-7) and gain like 40 or some-odd horse power they get the boost controlers off ebay for 20 bucks...............i was wondering is this is true and if it can be done on any turbo car?

thx

yep, sounds about right for the power gains too...

mazdas are bit finicky about air temps and stuff though, they like to pull timing from what I've seen in reviews of their modern boosted cars...

626 turbos ftl, slow and laggy and it has a peeshooter turbo. It starts to "pull" if you can say that at like 3500rpm. And btw the tranny is VERY weak, don't ask me how I managed to shoot pieces through the case...

It's two wires and two vacuum lines. It can't be that hard ;)

You laugh. My brother actually did it on his Volvo. He put a Tee onto the wastegate line, and put a length of hose off the tee. The less hose on the tee, the less resistance, and the more boost he had. He just cut a few inches at a time until he got the boost he wanted.
