I used to back in the day. I had a Redline 440, haha I loved that bike. I quit when I left California though, but when I used to do it I used to do it out in the hills of the Inland Empire! Hah, there was a city I lived by, Perris, that had a big track, that's where all the racing happened.

Haha, damn... I remember I used to spend every waking moment looking through catalogs and reading BMX magazines

Here's mine. I built it a few years ago. Some people call it "urban assault". It's like a big kids bmx bike with 24" wheels. I went a little overboard, I think the rear wheel was around $450 alone, XT 4 piston calipers, Crupi sealed bb pedals, I made the chainguide myself when I couldn't find anything that would work. I would like to get a better front fork with the bigger axle but I haven't ridden it enough lately to justify that.

man thats awesome i forgot this thread was here, but to answer some questions, i ride a Fly Diablo currently and i dont know how up to date you guys are on parts but im awaiting a Eastern Grim Reaper, which is on back order straight from eastern and all my distributors at the shop so that wont be here until late january. anyway I ride mainly street and park, i use to ride dirt a few years ago at my local trails call "Clover Hills" which were VERY popular and got alot of footage in videos, and magazines, but there long gone, ive also riden other places like posh, nam, the jungle and other places that some of you may have heard of.

arron, how do you like the urban assault stuff? eastern and dk are starting to get real big on that market, i was thinking about getting an eastern urban assault just for shits and giggles since i pay nothing for them, try out something differant when im bored.

as for all who are trying to get back into it, jsut scrap your old stuff, the new stuff is ALOT lighter and stronger, bikes that we use to ride like 6 years ago that weigh in at like 30-40lbs are now low as 22lbs and very durable. i have a few shots in a few videos and pics here and there i'll see if i can locate some for you guys

MDC, seeing that you know the old companys do you remember the homeless mack? haha that was my first bike

as for woodward i'll actually be there for a weekend in january

I don't know what mine weighs but I can still bunny hop my fat ass up about 5 stairs. :biglaugh:

I had a full suspension bike but I found that the hardtail was more my style.
I like to ride to the park or school yards and jump off of stuff.

edit: I just weighed it, 34lbs! But it has 2.75" tires f/r, and a triple crown fork. Plus it's bomb proof, I'm 255lbs and I can jump from 4-5' high onto flat concrete and it feels very solid on the landing.

34 lbs is pretty light for a urban bike, and yah i dont know if you ever road bmx before but most guys who make the transition over like the hard tail better over the full suspension, which comes naturally becuase lets face it if you can do all this crap on a 20incher rigid bike then a hard tail front susp. would take some getting use to but would eventually still feel the same.

I rode just about every day from when I was around 10 until I was 20, I've owned probably 25 bikes over the years.
I still have this one, it was top of the line 10 years ago:

Now I go out and see these kids doing insanely huge doubles and jumps where the lip is 10' high, and I just watch and tell them I'll loose my house after I eat shit and kill myself, where as they would just miss school for a few days.

That brings back memories. My favorite ever was my GT Mach1 with 3pc cranks and sealed bearings for everything. Back around when the movie "RAD" came out. The first job I ever had was at a bike shop making $3 an hour under the counter. :biglaugh:
We used to walk around school with our pant legs rolled up, that was so it didn't get caught in the chain. :nono:

These rear brakes were the shit when they came out.
