ive done 2 hg on gte's, first one, used stock hg with arp studs on first one, car ran great, then right after i did my second car, which i still have, used cometic and arp studs.
my first car with stock hg i pushed 15psi daily, and commuted 80ish miles round trip, always playin with the pocket rockets.
car i have now (one in picture) i drive frequently, and have pushed it to 18psi on a regular basis.
i have sold my first one to a good friend of mine who has done nothing to the car but change rad to aluminum. and the hg is perfect.. that was 5 years ago next month.
my car with cometic, still runs perfect and i attend as many supra meets as i can.
my point is hg reliability is ALL in prep work, i decked the block AND head, took all the necasary precautions to have a perfect reliable car. the bhg that has haunted the 7m and ultimatly hurt its rep, has nothing to do with the length of head, shape or whatever, but everything to do with the techs at toyota making a mistake. a mistake in torque specs.no mls hg in my opinion is crap, just some better than others.
just my 2 cents
