Blowing out oil from the dipstick when on the dyno??

I went to the dyno today and noticed that once I hit 17-18psi I was blowing out oil and saw that it was coming from the dipstick. I've done a couple of runs on the street and haven't seen this yet. It only does it once I reach 5800rpms or more on 17-18 psi. If I turn it down a bit to 15psi It doesn't do it! Any suggestions??? Thanks

How do I increase ventilation? and is it blow by when it's coming out of the oil dipstick? I found that the catch can that I had, had a small hole in it so I just ran the NA pipe that goes to the valve covers and ran a pipe down the back of the intake side of the motor. I only have one port on my intake pipe and I use that for the ISC, do you guys think that I need to run another one for this?

Thanks

Blowby

what that means is you can increase crankcase evacuation but if you are blowing the dipstick out.

Time for you to asses the condition of the motor and might want to focus on a quality rebuild.

So... I get the NA valve cover pipe, after that... nothing. How do you have the lines run?

I have the line just run down the back of the motor. I did this because Trent told me that this would be ok. I remember on his car this is the way that he had it on his setup.

I have je piston's and shotpeened rods in the bottem end, last time I checked compression it was 165-160-162-159-163-161 this was a couple of weeks ago when I got the car running and I have less than a hundred miles since. The motor has about 20K miles on it.

If I had oil getting past my rings wouldn't it be blowing out the exhaust though?? I didn't have anything coming out of the exhaust but some black smoke from running rich.

If I don't have a line going from the turbo intake to the valve covers I'm not getting the crankcase enough vacuum?? I thought many people do this?? If I need to run a line I will if needed. Thanks for the help guys, I'm just trying to get this running right.

I dynoed 374rwhp and 341rwtq on a mustang dyno at 17psi. On a dynojet that would've been 411twhp and 375rwtq.

I have the JE rings and pistons. I bought it as a set from MVPmotorsports.com. My compression test came out good and the car has seen many 20psi pulls and I haven't had this problem before, but that was on the street not the dyno.

Just because your dipstick is getting pushed out doesnt mean that your rings are toast. If you have good compression than I think your PCV lines are too small and they arent letting the small amount of blowby escape.

This condition can also push out your crank seals and cause oil leaks. You should avoid turning up your boost too high until you fix this so that you dont have to spend time pulling the tranny and pushing the seal back in later.

Easy fix though - my 2jz na-t project had teeny tiny holes in the valve covers and even smaller nipples. I took a 1/2 npt tap and put in some 90 degree 5/8" barbs and ran some big hose out to a catchcan.

Let Trent make mistakes with his own engine :nono:
For your engine you want to have a big vacuum line going from the intake to the valve covers, and maybe a catch can in between for good measure.

Would have been nice if the OP had posted more information at the start of the thread.....

Stupid Cletus PCV mods without an understanding of how the system works will cause this issue, big danger is for this to be happening the rings have to flutter badly and will mark up the cylinders and damage their surfaces.

If let go too long you will cause permanant damage and the motor will never seal correctly again.

W3rd.

Ive preached this before, and I'll preach again. YOU HAVE TO HAVE VACUUM ON YOUR CRANKCASE! :)
