blow off valve ?'s

i got a sequentiel blow off today but its one that has to be welded in. my question is. will it hurt the bov if it gets water in it? since its aluminum it will get hot when welded and could melt the internals, but if it can be dipped in water then it would stop the chance of melting the internals. its a hks ssq type i got it from a friend of mine who bought it and then wrecked his car before he used it. i know i know i should by a good name brand but hey its still new and it was free.

Mine had a C clip that can be removed to separate the BOV and the flange so it can be welded.

That would be my suggestion.

i think he didnt give me all the parts that go with it. is there any other way to go about mounting this bov?

Buy a hks flange for it and weld the flange to the pipe! I have that same BOV and have had no problems with it!

Just buy a new mounting flange and clip.
