I believe I'm just getting compression surge. I hear that famous flutter regardless of boost. I have an all stock setup except I have an ssqv, which came on the car. I was going to recirculate it but all of a sudden its not functioning correctly. From what I've read it is probably a bad vacuum source. I blew out all the vacuum lines going to the bov but it didn't help. Thoughts?

Try to blow through the line when the engine is cold - just disconnect it from the BOV, and blow in the end. If you can't, the line is plugged, which is rather common. Often it'll still work when hot, because the line gets plugged with gummed up old oil from the PCV system over the years, and it gets soft enough to let the vacuum signal through when hot.

If it's plugged, you'll need to disconnect it at both ends and blow it out with some solvent. I'm a big fan of brake cleaner, myself.

My BOV stopped working not too long ago.
Found out it was the vac line disconnected at the PS pump.
That one becomes the hard line that crosses your lower timing cover, and feeds the entire vac rail.
