Well I'm getting all new bearings. I guess I don't understand how hot tanking the block without the bearings in could effect them.. or were u saying if I wasn't getting all new bearings?

I got ya...I think I have decided to be patient, save up a bit, and do it all. I can't wait to have this thing up and running but I finally convinced myself to do the smart thing and make the bottom end flawless..has anyone started a thread on proper machining techniques/tips for the 7m? All I found with my quick search was an overview of complete engine rebuild not necessarily just bottom end machine tips
I personally had my machine shop put the aux shaft bearings in for me. Props for staying 7M and doing it right!

I installed my own oil pump drive bearings and it was a pain in the ass. Just have the machine shop do it.

I would use a permanent marker on the rod or skirt of the piston you take out number from 1-6 from the front to back. Keep everything in zip lock bags,
