I was out doing some tuning this morning and had rolled on in first gear, boosted to ~22psi and when I shifted my HKS SSQV didn't sound like it normally does. No high pitch, just a big whooosh! . . . then no power, no boost!

Figured I'd blown an IC connector, so I limped home --don't flame it was less than a block--took a look around and holy shit my BOV was hanging down! Walked back to where it happened and there was a mangled C-clamp lying on the road, no sign of the O-ring--I'm hoping it didn't get sucked in . . .

Might be time for a Tial or a HKS racing, or dual SSQVs. Please discuss.

My bolts backed out of my Greddy once. One was all the way out, and the other was hanging by a couple of threads before I finally figured out why the car wasn't acting right for a couple of days. It finally blew it off enough to make it obvious.

It's an aftermarket flange, so it may not be up to spec. Ordered a new c-clip, o-ring, and genuine HKS weld on flange--be here on Tuesday! Figured I'd give it a second chance with genuine parts, then if it gives me more grief a new Tial Q is in my future.
The pipe it is currently on is a real bitch to remove--one piece from I/C to intake.

I come from a land down under
There's an UP and a DOWN side on C Clips.

NOT saying that's the case here but if installed upside down they can pop out, installed the right way up the harder you push the harder then hold on.

If you look at one closely you'll see it's stamped from sheet, the press tool leaves one face slightly curved and the other sharp.

you want to install it Pipe Flange> BOV> C Clip> SHARP> so as the force from below pushes the sharp edge bites into the top of the groove.

Installed the other way up the rounded side can act like a ramp allowing the clip to compress and pop out.

Thankyou for listening this has been C Clip 101 ;)
