hey should i just keep the chassis harness the way it is and just remove unwanted componets. If i ever decide to rebuilt this thing as a street car the harness will be toast... Ahhh i need advice

You could do that, or go full painless.
I'm cleaning up mine, and it's definitely not painless. Do what your budget allows. If you're going for full out racecar, get a universal painless wiring setup. If you plan on running it on the street, keep the factory stuff, and cut out what's unneccessary. Typically, what you decide you don't want, you won't want. TEMS, antenna, seat wiring, airbag wiring, etc can all go.

what we usually do is jack up the whole car and slide some old sawblades under the 4 tires and set it back down. it is very stable and has quite a bit of ground clearance to work around. buddy sets his down on old railroad ties.

i need the wheels off to do brakes and rear end work that needs to be done. I just dont wanna get a supra coming down on top of me. Sawblades are 8 inches wide right?? i want to use BFG drag radials. just wanted to make sure the ones i am looking at will fit

in that case id just use 4 jack stands placed on the frame rails near the stock jack points.
sawblades are 7" wide, but i have run 255/50 drag radials on them no problem. they do bubble over a little and during hard cornering they do feel a little squirmy, but i dont often drive w/ them on the street.

here is a pic-

Making Progress....slowly but surely. I am working on pulling the A/C componets today and will try to have the big heavy box out from under the dash by tonight. I am also pulling the windsheild wipers and related stuff since you cannot drag race in the rain anyway :aigo: . Ok few questions. I am looking into the painless universal wiring kits and was wondering what i should go with they offer a 8, 12, or a 18 circut kit. I want/ need Ignition lights fuel pump electric fans standalone ECU power, guages I know i am leaving something out. I am using Autometer guages that i will try my hardest to stuff into the factory panel.

Pics will be up soon!!

Your project is coming along, keep up the good work!

Not sure exactly how many circuits you will end up with but if you have more then you need it will be ok, and you may do future upgrades and need more. 12 sounds like it would be enough, but if 18 is not a lot more money then maybe go with that. :dunno:
