Haven't checked any of that.
Now, I could probably search for it, but I'll be lazy and just ask :p.. what's a CPS? And where do I find the Coil Pack connectors :) :1zhelp:

Also, is it normal for it to shake sometimes when idling?.. Never happened to my honda (yes, my daily driver is a honda!). Idle is at about 750rpm..

By the way... I learned how to check if fuel is being delivered to the engine today! Thanks mcpcola ;) It sprayed well!!

good luck with that car, i suggest to read up on them. so far id say make sure you dont see that bird cage again, bhg a common with these cars. and i just watched your video, why? why? would you just start the damn car and a second later just start revving the shit out of it? these cars also have problems with rod bearings caused by oil problems. and when you shut the engine off, next let her cool off, thanks. good luck with it. and read up, there is plenty of good info on these pages.

Thanks.
lol. actually that was NOT me. My buddy has my spare key and it's parked at his place - he has a garage... He was the one who got it to start first.
He did all that while I was at work :aigo:

Sounded like compressor surge when you let off the throttle. After boosting do you hear a fluttering noise? If so, that is bad and needs to be taken care of before the turbo is destroyed.

There is a fluttering noise.. Just in case, we can post a new vid of the revs, closer up, so you guys can hear it.

BTW, I just got my plates yesterday, not sure if I should quite yet take it for a spin, though.

I also found out that the cams were just replaced and a new HG (toyota oem) was installed. However, the guy used the old bolts.. :3d_frown:
Since I don't want to end up with a BHG horror story, whats a good place to order new/better kit (I've seen many mention ARP)?

jesus looks like MT is the new hotbed

how far is Sweetgrass from anything worthwhile???

I was there the other day at the us/canada border

The closest city/town worth mentioning is Great Falls.. it's about 2.5 hours away from the border (according to google)... but I have no idea what to do there :hs:

Billings is about 350 miles.. but Google seems to think its almost 9 hours???
WTF, at an average speed of 80mph you could get here in about 4.5 hours... oh well.

haha...i have an idea, spend 5 hours in -10* weather trying to get into the supra you just bought. The guy washed it the day before the big freeze and didn't wipe the seals out haha.

Inspect your bypass valve, make sure it is hooked up properly. If in doubt you can pick up another for relativly cheap.

Heh hi, I'm the schmuck who made the video, btw. Don't worry, the car was warmed up before hand.

Damn thing doesn't wanna start now. It was weird, cause it was running find the other night (obviously). It does almost seem like an electrical problem, the way it is either working or not. I do know that putting in some gas helped. It was below Empty.

Yeah, has the stock alarm. I found out the hard way. The first night the car was here, I needed to push it back a bit to open my garage door. I went to open it and the horn went ballistic. Didn't even know it had an alarm. I unlocked it but it didn't quit going off, so I had to pop the hood and unhook the positive on the battery. This all happened at midnight on a Thursday, and I heard about it the next day from the neighbors. :biglaugh:

The next day, the car wouldn't even crank. I had to lock and unlock it a few times to get it to crank again. Ever since, we haven't locked it.

The time that I did get it to start was right after we cleaned the spark plugs, which were pretty black. The car only ran for 20 minutes tops, and seemed to run fine. I was really surprised when it wouldn't even come close to firing the next day when I tried it. I checked the plugs today and they're totally black again. I pulled the #1 plug and it is getting spark.

We cleaned the plugs the other day (pictures of dirty plugs to come), but the car still wouldn't start. Usually, if you let it sit for a good while before you try it, it'll cough once when you first crank it over, but then nothing more.

Last night, I gave it another try, and it fired up immediately. Once running, it ran fine, but I shut it off and tried it a few minutes later, and it wouldn't even sputter, it just cranked.

My guess is that its running rich, and maybe getting flooded out for some reason. That would explain why it only starts when its sat for a few days, the plugs are clean, and its kind of cold outside. Any ideas as to what's causing it, though?
