I'm curious about what the biggest wheel/tire setup is for our cars. I know you can put the Mk IV rims (17x8 front, 17x9.5 rear, if i remember correctly) on with 245's and 275's, but has anyone increased the offset to fit a bit more rubber under there?

Also, if anyone has some good pics of wide wheel upgrades, I'd love to see them with details about what they are.

THANKS!

Doesn't anyone have some pics to post? I understand Mustang Cobra wheels will fit, but the offset on them is only 32mm. Will this make a big difference?

Going to roll the rear and sqeeeze a 295 on.. theres enough room (if I roll the fender).. its fairly low too.. will get pics eventually (need to borrow camera cord from abuddy, lost mine)

19's just seem too big for the MKIII

i'll go with 17X10's if i go FNO1RC's

but anyother wheel i'll be doing 18X9.5 maybe 10

What size tires do you have on you rears? Any chance you can throw up a pic of the rear tires from behind?
yea i can do that. I have 265/30 on the back. Very streched over the 10" rim but looks real fat. I would need roll the arches if i went any wider. That will depend on what offset you go for. Mine are 35 on the front and 38 on the rear.
More pics.

may as well throw my hat into the ring here. 18x8.5 fronts, 18x9.5 rears.

in theory you can run up to a 20x10 wheel iirc with the correct offset. however not gonna be fun i bet to ride on! 18s give just enough space i feel for a good ride quality.

Hell, I'm almost embarassed now, your cars look so great!
Thanks for the great pics too, it makes it a lot easier to see how things look!

I'm thinking maybe I'll try to find some 9's and 10's, and squeeze 295's on the rear. I haven't decided between 17's or 18's though. I've been thinking about getting modular wheels, but I just don't know enough about them to know who to trust. Maybe I'll take the easy route and steal some mustang cobra rims and pull the pony centercaps out...
