I've been searching through 20 pages of threads with no luck! I swear I saw this thread somewhere.. But here it is again.

I am looking for an ebay front mount intercooler for my 88 supra. What is the widest I can fit between the frame rails? And do people have any Good pictures of them mounted? I will be running a FFIM with 3" pipes. I've seen plenty of 24x12x4's, thats the width of the core though, with a total width of about 30".. is that as wide as we can go?

PICS TOO! =)

Here's a pic of mine with bumper off, should give you a good idea, Reignmaker has the same one in his build thread, IDK why you would need bigger, but I don't know your goals. It is the 12x24x4

I'm sorry but i HATE 4-point harnesses why not just go with 5-point and get the real protection out of your harnesses

I would have to find a way to mount a crotch strap if I wanted 5 point. I really do not feel like putting it on each time I get in aswell.

I guess a true 24x12x4 is the largest that fits. From end tank to end tank its 30.7".. Will buy one soon from XS or some ebay place for 150 soon.

Yea I hear you about putting it on everytime but most cam locks are atached to the crotch strap so that kinda solves it and just weld a tab on the frame of the seat somewhere. even if you never use it on the street you want it if you go to the track.

The actual distance rail to rail is about 29 inches. In a side to side intercooler, as said, the 24 inch core is about as big as you get. Top to bottom flow can stretch out a little more, but the upper pipes will have to go over the frame rail, meaning the intercooler is basically lined up right behing the bumper...not great for airflow.
