i was planning on putting better o-rings on it and sealing the threads with fipg or silicone, maybe loctite.

The O-rings were definitely a piece of crap, when I tightened the nipples on they would smoosh to the side and leave a gap. I tried to seal it with Teflon tape but I just ended up stripping the bungs. I guess welding is all I have left now, at least that's free.

i started to tighten them down then caught myself, i think the fipg will do the trick.

I used teflon tape last night and sealed all the joints with silicone i left the top cap movable only. meaning that the bottom doesn't unscrew anymore. I sealed all the bolts too and submerged the whole thing in water to make sure there are no leaks. There wasn't, so the vacuum now is a tad stronger, like a few pounds more. Silicone and teflon tape actually worked.

when i got mine the threads are tightened before the oring touches and seals, i was going to get orings that were a little thicker
