Not unless you are running 11,000 rpm and above it is not
Muzy;1202854 said:I would imagine that you are referring primarily to spark (11 000 rpm)
And no, I have no desire to turn an engine that speed.
My concern is with fuel management as batch fired injectors are not a
good idea when we add larger injectors plus put more squeeze to the air.
As far as I can determine the mk3 batch fires 2 injectors, while not as bad
as what is done with the GM 4.3. Is still not good fuel management, and will
lead to problems.
If I am incorrect please advise a good source for info, as all my recent
searches just regurgitates the same results. Thnx for your time muzy

Thnx IJ, that makes sense otherwise engine would be over rich.IJ.;1204530 said:Muz: The difference being with large injectors (1000cc+) it'll have some chance of idling below 1300rpm wired sequential.
I was assuming the motec has an exceptional fuel injector driver, or wouldfiggie;1204770 said:correct
in short...
trying to open the big injectors for 2ms at a time per rev in batch fire v running the injector for 3.6 ms once per cycle (2 revs). The 3.6 ms is easier to do with most standalone unless they have an exceptional fuel injector driver channel.
John Reed;1204782 said:The response time has more to do with the injector design itself than the standalone (though a good driver helps, that is for sure). Batch works fine, but technology has moved on and sequential offers better idle quality and better light/part throttle torque if your injection timing is properly setup. In my opinion, spending money on a quality standalone and NOT going sequential is simply a waste of money in a way (at least for a street car). For a race car, there may be valid reasons to go batch (though with a few road race cars I tune, fuel consumption/throttle response are such keys that it again almost dictates we go sequential).

I was assuming the motec has an exceptional fuel injector driver, or would
that be an add on? I was running some numbers and came up with 3.1ms
per cycle @ 7500rpm. Shoot me your formula mine is with flaw perhaps:icon_bigg
Ok, sounds like motec will be my friend. I will probably contact a rep. and
hopefully they will be able to provide me with what requirements(hardware)
I need to run there system in my car.
I expect to be ready to incorporate this stand alone system in about 6mounths from now. So still much to learn.

But I am also here if you just need questions answered, I am not on here daily but I try and make my rounds of a few forums.
