I just finished replacing my headgasket and having the head reworked. While I was at it I installed my new downpipe from bic. When I cranked it up, I had an exhaust leak from behind the head.(my first bhg with this car) Their was a hole on the left side of the head that I didn't put a metal cover over. I fixed it, but it still sounds pretty loud.
I got in it and drove it down the road, and DAMN! That thing sounds like a log truck when it kicks in. I knew it would be loud, but had no idea it would wake the dead. I don't know if it's because I have a larger than stock turbo, or what, but I wouldn't have bought it if I knew it was going to be this loud. If I could post a video of it I would, but I've tried and for some reason can't get it to work. I videod my car getting dynod before the bhg, but I couldn't get it to upload. Anyways, just thought I would post up about that. I'm not knocking the downpipe in anyway shape form or fashion, because it clearly states that it is loud. I saw a couple videos someone posted with their ddp, but mine is way louder. I passed a few kids out playing soccer yesterday, so I punch it and the turbo kicks in and they about jumped out of their skin. They all looked like..........

im took off my exhasut about 3 weeks ago and now run open dp and same here the spool up is amazing plus it sounds great
yeah but i have one loud exhaust ticket already lol

I keep hoping the one for the supramania video upload will work but it keeps telling me that I'm not who I claim to be. I'm starting to agree with it. I don't know who I am anymore.....lol

hmm... i used photobucket.com for my last post about my smoking car... i uploaded it to photobucket and then cut/paste the URL for the video. if that doesnt work, then try out the other two options it gives?

Get a boost controller and keep it under the preset boost levels, and it's all good. Until you WANT to scare the piss out of someone on the sidewalk, anyhow....

I ran open downpipe for a few nights last week and it was loud as hell.
My friend was driving in front of me in his WRX and his exhaust pops pretty loud sometimes because of his BOV. He went through first then shifting into second he shot a huge fireball and 2 girls on the sidewalk almost fell over they were so scared, they just stared at me shocked as I rumbled by laughing hysterically afterwards

I was going to go make a video of my car, BUT as usual something went wrong. I washed my car and drove down the road to dry it off. A friend of mine was in front of me, for just a short time, and after I passed him we pulled over. He said that I must have blown something up, cause smoke was coming out of the back of it like crazy. I looked at my bhg gauge and everything was fine and no smoke. I went back home and as I pulled up to my house I noticed smoke boiling out from under the hood. Looked at the intake side of my motor and antifreeze was everywhere. After a few wirtydords because I thought I had blown my one week old headgasket, I looked a little closer and saw a hose had blown off. It was a 3/8 hose and antifreeze had blown out of it. Went to O'reily's, bought a new one and replaced it. Took forever because I couldn't get to it. Got my next door neighbor to help me because he has little arms. Filled it up with antifreeze and now everything is right. It's just extremely loud.

Now, sorry this is so long, Would the ddp cause me to hit fuel cut? I wasn't hitting fc before and now I am. My boost gauge is set the same as it was. The only thing that has changed is my down pipe. I went from an HKS to a bicddp. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It is very possible I believe I hit FC in mine but I had the FCD in at the time, which I have since removed.

I think I remember hearing something about DP's increasing your boost slightly so you may be hitting FC.

JAV, I may have misread. Did you hit fuelcut after you installed your ddp? Had you hit it before you installed the ddp? Thanks.
I have the lexus afm, 550's, 255 fuelpump. How will I get rid of it without turning my boost down? I'm only pushing 12.5 pounds of boost now. Does the lexus afm have an adjustment screw on it that will help me?

You shouldn't be hitting FC at those levels, the lex does have the adjustment screw. I'd read up to make sure you don't end up blowing something by messing with that screw.
I hit it after I had the ddp with straight pipes with stock afm and 440's

No antman, I don't have an afpr. If it will help with fc, I will order one tonight. I get so tired of fc. It makes me want to eat a hole in my dash. If I get one will I need more fuel or less? Is it something I can adjust with my safcii? Just thought I would ask.
