Definately third for me. Most of my races (on closed circuits with paramedics on hand) are from a third gear kick. I think my car does about 115 in third and that's about shut down time anyways.

Alec- I think you'll be much happier w/ the MKIII. :) It's a lot more robust, and better built, too. With some handling mods (and maybe a pinch of weight reduction), you'll keep up with M3's in the twisties, and have more power to boot.

My favorite gear is 3rd. My second favorite gear is 4th. Look at the dyno vid I posted above. After that pull, people asked me if my car red lined at 10k. LOL. I told them no, 6500rpm.

Nobody believed me because it just goes, and goes, and goes. LOL. It was great. :)

Alec - Your in high school and have a sweet ass car...which means you have more than most. You don't need to go super fast yet(it scares young girls anyway lol) plus you probably don't have the driving experience. It does seem you have enough of a head on your shoulders to understand that and willing to do some learn'in.

Enjoy your car throughout college, keep it like it is. SAVINGS Account, once you get out of college and get a job, then start playing around.

Yea, I was thinking about possibly getting a MBC for like $50 for the time being. The previous owner recommended that I should get one because they're not too expensive. He said that I should be fine with 12lbs with my setup, maybe 10 or 11lbs. What do you guys think?

Get used to driving at the boost level you're at now. Trust me, you'll love your car regardless. My car is n/a auto right now... the day after I bought it, I hit the gas too hard around a corner and almost lost it into a street sign. Scared the hell outta me, but put a huge smile on my face knowing I had both rwd and that type of power (even though it wasn't as much as you've got).

Be lucky you've got Pras' old car, that thing is fricken clean as hell.
