I run a slightly modified stock heatsheild, it helps a lot...

mine's not a BIC....but they're functionally the same. Getting the damn first cat out of the engine bay helps a LOT...

Well thats certainly every possible combination of responses. haha. I've seen vids on the open DDP with the audio and for the most part they sound of an awesome growl. As long as its quiet while its not under boost and I'm just cruising then I will definitely get it as I really must have perfect audio quality in my car cause I'm an audiophile.

P.S. Can't wait to scare they crap out of people while sitting in traffic around the Beltline of Retards(rt440) here in raleigh, nc.

Just a thought, could you somehow custom fit a mini resonator if down the road you did want to quiet it some or would that cause too much back pressure.

Just another thought, if I were BIC, I would have done the rerouted option so that it connected at less of an angle compared to the angle of the downward section so that it would connect flush with the angled-straight bend and would enter the flow of the exhuast providing smoother flow...but im sure the diffference in the backpressure if any would be so minimal it wouldn't matter...if that made anysense lol.

There is another maker of the DDP that does just what you are talking about.

I ran the first DDP with out a flex for 3 years without any problems, and there are hundreds of others out there without the flex and i havent heard of any problems of running without the flex.

yes you could fit some type of motor cycle muffler, or they do sell small wastegate pipe mufflers, but I have only seen them in Japaneese magazines, never out here in North America.

BTW the angle of the wastegate pipe re-route is at a 45* angle which is the ideal angle, it just looks like a 90*, look closely. Most external wastegate setups with the dump pipe re-routed into the main exhaust that i have seen are at 90*, including many top name kits including HKS and SP turbo kits. Making the pipe enter closer to the bottom just uses more material, more labor = higher cost!!!, and makes for a heavier more expensive part with no real bennifits.
