i'm using a rather thin exhaust housing to dp gasket, and i was wondering if anyone has ever had issues w/ the wastegate flap hitting the inside of the dp

i'm a bit lazy, and i'd kinda like to wait till i get soft ct oil lines before i tear apart the left side of the engine :)

thanks,
dallas

reason i'm asking, is i could almost swear i remember someone posting about this...

is something happening that would lead you to think that the wastegate flap is hitting the DP?
yes... no boost controller.... no shims, vac line is perfect... yet it will creep to boost cut in third, 4th, and 5th gear... and it gets damn near cut in 1st and 2nd as well

then again... my exhaust isn't helping the matter... i'm running a bic ddp (obviously) w/ pretty much a 3" magnaflow muffler bolted to the end... my exhaust doesn't even make it past the doors, but even w/ full exhaust it will creep like crazy

You hook up an air hose with like 11-14 psi going to the wastegate (it may be more like 8 psi) if you can't get you psi's that low tap the open valve really fast to release the pressurized air to the wastegate for a split second. If the arm to the wastegate moves, it should be fine and your issue is somewhere else ;).

Whoever it was that said check the wastegate's vacume had a really good idea, check both of those.

Mine does the same with the DDP and a magnaflow muffler, after staying WOT for too long it creeps to fuel cut in 3rd 4th and 5th if I try to bring them to redline.

damn... wtf would cause that? is the internal wastegate simply not efficient enough (or big enough) to do it's job?
