So, I did an engine block test today. The first few suctions I got nothing but bubbles, but the last few times the fluid level went up and turned green. The instructions say that the fluid is supposed to turn yellow if there is a bad leak, but my fluid only turned green. Did I do the test wrong or is my BHG very minor at this point?

Ok, redid the test, but the fluid stayed a solid blue this time around, which makes me wonder if I really have a BHG or not. Here are the symtoms that I have experienced so far.

-Waterfall after first startup
-After a long drive on a hot day (2+ hours) a decent amount of coolant comes out of the overflow after shutting the car off

Those are the symptoms that I have. No coolant/oil mixture anywhere, no leaks as far as I can tell (no puddles on the ground), no smoke from exhaust, no other symtoms that I can find.

Is a compression test next on my list or should I do something else?

I'd focus on the cooling system...sounds like you're pulling air into it somewhere.
Check the rad cap 1st.

I knew I was forgetting something. Rad cap was replaced in August with a new one from Toyota. Rad hoses still look decent but I havent taken an extremely close look yet.

Where does the temp gauge read when the car has been run for a while?

A pressure test of the cooling system sure wouldn't hurt ;)
