Since I've been a member of this site, it seems like everday there is a new BHG thread.

I want a poll.

If you had a BHG at any point in owning a Toyota car.. Supra, Cressida, etc.. with a 7M, 1J, or 2J, please vote.

Never had one since I've owned mine, but the recipt slips in the glove box indicate that it has had at least two in it's life time starting around 2002, and the next in '03.

bought my car with a BHG, it had 120,000 miles on it when I got it. I have no idea if it had been changed before or not.

Well,

My first two had BHG repaired before they were purchased.

The one I am replacing now, was also blown (although I did not know it until I opened it up).

So add 2 to the 7m column, lol..

I'll go ahead and add this one in: My cousin bought his with BHG for 1K, took it to the machine shop, had them do the HG repair with ARP studs. The "two week" job stretched out for 6 months. He finally got the car back, 300 miles later, another BHG. This was with the head machined, but block left in the car, composite HG, unknown torque value for the head studs. Mods: full turbo back, intake, hardpipes, stock boost on stock turbo. I'm leaning more towards undertorqued head studs...

I went ahead and voted for 7M although it turned out I didn't really have a BHG... My issue could have been solved by simply re-torquing the head bolts and replacing a leaky hose, however I wanted a HKS MHG and ARP studs just for peace of mind so I went ahead and resealed everything...

Close enough though, and if I had let it go much longer it would have been...
