and they wonder why photographers try to pack as much of their gear in hand luggage as possible....

i've got most of my gear in my hand luggage, with only 1 bit of long glass and a back up body and short glass in the checked baggage... (the short glass in the checked baggage is only a kit lens that came with my now-retired 20d... i only lug it around in case i need to use the 30d, cos it's no use on the 1d anyway)

This nation as well. The entire up-and-coming generation which never had to work for anything has a generally terrible work ethic.

Unfortunately very true, its more the parents to blame for that if anything from what I see around here.

I have about a half a dozen Pelican cases that I just need to find replacement foam for...then my camera gear can go in one of those for traveling....but yeah, I always carry on my camera gear....and my laptop. I find it funny though, they always say you're allowed 1 carry-on and one laptop bag. Well, my camera bag is my carry-on....so what if my laptop bag is a gi-normous backpack that I cram a bunch of shit in.... :sarcasm: :biglaugh:
