We were pulling a 7m engine out of a mk3 to do a 1jz swap yesterday, and thinking of some better places to have an oil dipstick then in the block.

When we removed the engine oil plug, about 1 quart came out. Where did the rest of the oil go?
When we removed the lower ic pipe, about 1.5 quarts came out.
So this might be a good place for a dipstick:

When we removed the spark plug wires, we saw about 1 quart of oil in the spark plug valley. This might be a good place for another dipstick. This one should be checked before beginning a tune up.

When the blow-by becomes excessive, you may want to install a dipstick as shown here.

This dipstick will always read low, but you may not need a dipstick here, because you will usually see several quarts of this oil covering the entire underside of the car.

And we came up with a new item that all 7m owners should have. Removing your 7m oil cap could cause 2nd or 3rd degree steam burns. You never know what kind of excessive pressure could be in the crankcase. This is a safety upgrade, as well as for high performance.

(if you don't laugh at any of these then you don't own a Supra. :biglaugh:)

Very nice :D

:biglaugh: :biglaugh:

In all seriousness, though - I'm hoping having 220,000 LESS MILES will help some of those leaks ;)
