Best valve cover gasket ?

Who makes good one, mine is leaking and there brand new :cry:

Well you gotta be careful when you install them its easy to make them leak, I replaced mine about a year and half ago with Felpro gaskets and also replaced the bolts that came with gasket kit, I can't remember how much they cost I got them through napa here in town, they still sealed up nice no leaks.

I also beadblasted and painted my valve covers with some high heat paint, painted em a toyota red they turned out pretty good still nice and clean I figured theyd turn to crap but they havent.

So I guess I'd get a set of FelPro's and see how they work for you, they work fine for me, but I had a buddy help me install them and we were careful, you can screw them up very easily.

suprasport.com has a kit for the bolts so u can use a tourque bit instead of a screwdriver. that philips head design sucks hard to get tight.

Any should work as long as you put them on right: put the sealant where the TSRM calls for (not too much not too little), and torque them down properly! DO NOT ratchet them down with a wrench and hope its right, use a real inch pound torque wrench and tighten it down properly and you wont have problems.

i like to get some RTV that will work with petroleum products and put a little on my fingers. i then apply a light film on the gaskets to make them tacky. dont let it build up anywhere, smooth it all. i have not had leak yet. and like the others above have said, use the tq spec on the tsrm.

i also have felpro gaskets.

im using FELPRO, there great not leaking but i also changed the screws into bolts and i torqued them to spec. maybe yours is leaking cause its not installed properly.

Toyota gaskets FTW. I have removed my cam covers (with same gaskets) 3 times now since the rebuild and still no leak
