ok we kinda had a half ass thread like this when oink went down but i'm gunna try to help everyone out and put together one with some rules so everyone can download freely :icon_bigg

Ok here's how it goes you can list privet and public tracker sites but list which it is and i will try to add to this first post for everyone. Also be a little descriptive about it, like if it's music only, movies, or if there are a lot of viruses to watch out for.
also if you got invites here's the place to trade them for other sites

leech away!

Privet:
TorrentLeech.org -great for TV and movies, always with the latest and fast downloads
Demonoid - it rules
leecherslair - it's over 9000!!!
HDBits - it's full so they suck

Public:
pirateBay.org - Has everything even viruses

well i never used mininova, ever. untill about a month ago. i downloaded along came polly dvd rip. then POW! ISP punch to the face, i have no internet, had to call and lie about my wireless internet being unprotected and pretending i didnt know what a router is, asking stupid questions like "Is this the same as wi-fi" because i use wifi. blah blah blah, so they have a 2 strike policy. so if i get caught again, i think they will cancel my account perminantly.
they didnt say if i would get turned in or not.

EDIT:

Now that i think of it, i guess it just depends on the main seeders ISP, and your ISP.
i have cox communications and i am pretty sure they, along with comcast and some other ones monitor.
Only other one around me (Embarq) suposidly does not monitor, but i dont know

I just use itunes store when I come up on a song I like.

The majority of what I listen to is trance and luckily DJ's openly provide downloads for their mixes so alot of what I have was free anyway...

When I was still dorming at school and had access to our DC++ server, I did rape a good 200+gb of media though. So I've already done my fair share of pirating...

I don't mind paying for music anymore though since I've got a big collection already.

Not veryone who torrents uses it for music. I wont go into software or Movies, but the biggest reason I torrent is for A, Video games long out of print. I just started playing one of my favorite games ever, Grim Fandango, again because I stumbled upon it on Demonoid.

And B, TV shows, 34+ GB of house and just about the same for Top Gear and climbing. I pay for music.
