Toyota 100,000 mile Iridium 2JZGTE plugs same temp ranges same ignitor same COP.
If you dont want to spend the extra 10$ the get the OEM 2JZGTE platnums 60,000 mile plugs from toyota.

What ever you do dont put crappy copper plugs autolites etc dont go the cheap route.

single twins dont make much difference if your pushing like 30 psi you should get super spark COPs with a CDI DLI type system to add to spark and adjusting gap will factor in etc..

But iridiums is about the best way to go..

maybe it depends on what brand iridiums.... but from personal experience and buddies, iridiums aren't the best for when it comes to a boosted motor... whether it be super charged or turbo charged... the plugs foul out or blow up because when the cylinder is pressurizes at full boost it's harder for the spark to jump the gap (the little surface as opposed to the bigger surface area of a typical plug) and over heats the plug and this happened to two buddies of mine... both had the plugs gapped properly and on one car the plug overheated and blew up and did a nice number on his #2 piston (the other plugs in the other cylinders showed signs they were getting ready to pop). my other buddy had the tip break off the plug no serious damage but still pretty gay....

both cars boosted no more than 15-20 psi... one was a honda and another was a supra.

the brands they used were DENSO and NGK...

Just curious, why not the BKR7E's (NGK 4644 )? I know they work great in my 2JZGE-t application, and they are $1.69 a piece.

NGK V-Power Copper BKR7E gapped at .28
Great plugs, but the gap is going to fluxuate depending on mods and boost. Before I went with the celica coils, I had to run a .020 gap in my plugs.

I used to run the 4644's but now I run the ngk's that someone suggested that are about a 1/8 longer. I can't really tell a difference, but they seem to be working great. NGK's FTW.
My car wouldn't run under boost with the Irridiums. It would break up horribly. The car idle's waaaaaay better with them, but wot is way more important to me.

I've always run the BKR6E's.. I've never really had an issue with them, but I should probably go a range colder (7) as most recommend.

I just ordered plugs from toyota a week before you asked.
I went to toyota with employee discount I asked for Iridium Upgradded plugs for 1997 2JZGTE
They went into the back and brought me platnums so halfway on my home, we read the box and they said platnum.
My brother got pissed so insisted we turn around and get the right plugs.

We went back even though he charged us for platnums and he gave us platnums by mistake he gave us iridums free of charge with exchange of the platnums.

From my experiance I have ran iridiums all my 1JZGTE life never had any issues.
My brothers SC400 Soarer with a 1JZGTE he is running iridiums with no issues.
I am now on my second supra 1JZGTE I bought it for 4500 it wasent running right once
I pulled the crappy fouled copper autolights out did a real tune on the engine / stinger the 4500 car runs like a 50,000 ferarri.
I am sure Ill never have an issue with my plugs in this one too.

Also think of it like this would toyota upgrade platnums to iridiums and risk being resposible for a spark plug that would take out a $10,000 engine?
Toyota is very smart & I think your thinking of what im thinking if toyota was dumb enough to put somthing in our engine that would blow it and chuncks of plug are blown off into the cylinder dont you think they would do a little more to make sure this wouldnt happin?
Anyways while you think on it here is the part numbers.

90919-01178-83 Platnum 60,000 mile toyota plugs $35.28 for 6 of them with toyota discount.
90080-91180 Iridium 100,000 mile plugs Roughly ~$10.00 more then platnums for 6 of them toyota discount.
This was the puchase price on the day of 05 JUNE 2010 innvoice #CM238767

I dont think they use small tips on these iridiums because I just bought a set of 8 from autozone for my 4runner 1UZ swap and the tips look small like needle points.
Then when looking these supra Iridiums the tips look as large as platnum but are obviously no platnum.

Any other toyota sales advice would be nice if you work there and look at these plugs tell me they look like they would foul easily?
I wounder if people blew the plugs up going lean or fouled them out by running the car with out a filter or something because these dont look like whimpy plugs.

after reading all the new post i still think toyota is going to have the best iridium plug for the 1j or 2j. even on my 7m the ngk iridium seem to run ruff under wot.
