I'm converting back to R12 when I do my A/C overhaul...

but yes, you have the most advanced car toyota made at the time (with nice climate control) and not have A/C is a bit...odd

I use A/C for about 1 month of the year, but I switch it on and run it every week to keep it functional. It's also good for de fogging your windscreen.

Not having ac on a dd is terrible. Going home from work the interior too hot to touch, sweat pouring off, being stuck in traffic. Argh it makes me cringe thinking about it.

even when i had a/c i never used it. I used to drive with the heat blasting even in the summer so the engine would stay cooler. thats what i thought, well driving at burst of up to 140 i stayed cool. and my eyes were bloodshot when i got out of the car form teh heat. im crazy but i love my car. I still never use a/c in my dd. i never had a/c in my home until aa couple months ago.

The way i see it is, i dont deal with rush hour (afternoon shift) and ive got a targa top, if its hot the roof comes out. Plus its alot of extra in the already jammed full engine bay. In my tacoma though, id be ok without A/C if i had power windows, which i dont, and cranking the A/C is alot easier than leaning over and cranking down a window. A/C ftw

I have fully functional A/C but seriously only use it once or twice a year at most. I just never really need it, i like having my windows open and a cool breeze coming in. Living in a little mountain town with no real stop and go traffic helps too.

my truck doesnt have A/C at all, but i dont care because its my winter driver, i have yet to need a/c when its snowing so all works out.

IJ I used to build convertible cars and I am pretty handy at "making from scratch" very functional window and door glass seals. I dont have a targa but I really like them. maybe I can do a how too some time. PM me the details are very simple and Im sure you can do it and even understand the text description of the details. Maybe I can snap a few shots. Heres a car I made for my dad, it has a functional top and everything (he lives in Michigan and still owns the car) photo taken less than a month ago.
