I am going to put on my exhaust in about an hour and was wondering where the best point is to jack up the rear of the vehicle?

Well...I've learned PERSONALLY to ALWAYS use jackstands. I almost wouldn't be here today had I not already started sliding out from under the car.:nono:

umm, never get under a car supported only by ANY type of jack, scissor, floor jack or otherwise.

always use jackstands.

doing cat-back only I assume? It's still going to be a bit tight by the cat and you'll have to ensure your front tires have "chucks" on them so it doesn't roll forward. Personally I don't like that idea.

You may want to consider getting the entire car up on 4 jack stands (jack up each side). It's a fairly cheap but great investment if you plan on doing work on your car. Sears makes really nice 3 1/2 ton stands for like $30 a pair. Just my .02 after doing about 5 exhausts :)

i did my catback system with just he back end jacked up. was definately unfonfortable.. but wasnt bad.

Same here, had the rear tires off the ground by about 8 inches and when attaching to the cat I could only swing one arm under there... it's tight up by the cat.

it makes it a helluva lot easier workin on the car with all 4 tires off the ground. id go ahead and get 4 jackstands. only problem i was running into was the jack area on the side of the car was curling a little. nothin big, but still unnerved me to see it happening.
you know, those areas on all four corners that the tsrm tells you to put jackstands under?

My uncle's garage has like 18 foot ceilings. I would love to get a garage like that and have a lift in it.

Lagged, Amen to that GET JACK STANDS. I also know that there will be those who can't afford them or just can't get their hands on some, so tires under the edges can save your life, that’s all I was addressing. Here in So Cal over the years you can't imagine how many folks have squished themselves that would be alive today had they thrown the damn tires under the car for some minute amount of safety.
