Yippee.
Thats just great.
I'm planning on dropping by my mechanic tomorrow. The guys is a frikkin genius and a terrific mechanic.
Hopefully its something cheap....
Its so weird cuz I can swear I hear dripping and sizzling after I stop, but can't find it anywhere. Has to be internal I guess...

Funny, this little mystery problem has taken me from killing my friend's Camaro to driving like a granny...:)

Thanks!
For now, everything is stock. Waiting to see how this problem plays out, then planning to start with intake & exhaust (I think) as many have recommended.

I'd like to say the car is perfectly gorgeous, but thats a tiny, low-rez pic taken from far away...
The front and rear bumper clear coat is gone, and unfortunately the first owner screwed up the wheels real badly. I want to get them retouched. There are a few extremely tiny random rust spots a long the top. And the interior shows that it has been left in the sun too long. Lastly, the TEMS is stuck in sport mode, which makes for a punishing ride!

But hey, its not bad for a first car and I love it! :)

I had a leaky turbo oil line that would spray onto the exhaust when running 3500rpm and up. It would sizzle, and smell like burning oil. Check to see if you have any whitish spots on the exhaust near the turbo.

See, this is exactly what we are talking about! Perfect example!

Everyone is saying "fix whats broken" yada yada yada.

Or "save your money untill something breaks"

o, and yeah, old school smileys do rock! ;-)

On the "performance" side, i say a simple intake and exhaust sytem. Have you looked in our forsale section yet? Many GREAT people selling performance stuff there!

Just my .02!

if you think it's oil burning off then I would be looking on the exaust side of the engine, but my guess would have to be valve covers or turbo oil lines. Pull off your upper IC pipe (comes out of the fender near the air intake box) and rub your fingers on the inside to see if there's a lot of oil residue. Your turbo oil seals might be bad and all your oil might be in your intercooler. Good luck! (you'll need it:naughty: )
