Well good news for MVP and for us, I was just told to call Dustin at BC, as they are getting ready to do 1jz cams.

Good news is finally there will be the larger grind available which i suspect due to my testing before I spit a shim would have at least a 30-50 (even more in higher revs) HP gain over the previous 272 small core AKA 264's that I sold previously in the GB.

Probably going to do some testing with a few 1jz guys here to see what kind of power gains we can get form them... Also trying to push them to do shimless buckets since they are super expensive right now and no one really makes them aside from places in japan.

Eric, I think that I may be definitely interested. I've got a little project that SP is working on for me, and I was thinking about getting the right cam. I had my head built and ported/polished, and looking at my flow specs, the closer that I can get to a .400 lift on the intake and .300-.350 on the exhaust, is where I will see the most flow. How much lift are we talking here?

Are 1J and 2J buckets the same? If so 1ZZ shimless buckets would work

Would the larger cams be even laggier than the small core? The small core cams are kind of laggy, but they more than make up for it up top. I was just curious as to how the will act compared to the small core.

yea, they'll most likely be a little laggier, but peak power will be higher then the 264s most likely. probably extend the usuable rev range into 8k

Man, the bigger cams sound nice, but I am so happy with the small cores that I think I will just stick with them. Huge power increase!!

Crower was making the '272 small cores'. Now Brian crower is starting their production of them and taking over for crower. I assume they will be stocking this item, so should be readily available, unlike the crowers that were made to order.

I gotta through this out -

How the hell are camshafts 'laggy'? If you're having a problem with peaky power, increase the LSA! DOHC means you can change the lobe separation very easily in these motors :D

Hey guys sorry for the lack of response been so busy! But the last time I had the big cores in the car, it was a freaking crazy bitch. the lift was .406 on both intake and exhaust, but I think because of the high lift it was shooting shims... At least the two cores that went out did.

Anyways, back on topic, i'm not sure if Brian will water them down a bit so that we don't shoot shims or need shimless buckets. I honestly can't say there was much more lag between the two but you guys have to realize I didn't spool till about 5-5500 on my twin k26's..

These cams I wouldn't recommend for anyone on stock twins, only people on singles as you really need to rev to get the most of them... If you plan to rev to 7500+ you should look at these, the old cores die out around 7000-7200 then start to fall slightly where as stock falls on it's face at 6k. These I expect to push about another 500-800 RPM of rev before they fall on their face as well, maybe even more becuase of the extra lift. Supra hero, I'm not sure man, maybe you should get some cam gears and adjust a bit I know you can pick up what you lost and still have more overall if you adjust with a set of adjustable cam gears.

Guys i have no dates or cost yet I just know i got the call asking me to call them to help them.

Please!!! do that, I am a total noob at installing cams inmy 1j, I have done it a bunch of time is DSMs but they don't have shims over buckets, Now i have a question & hopefully someone can help me, What's the bad thing about going shimless bucket??? like upgrading to MR-S shimless buckets???
