Just finished a rebuild of my 87t. My battery light is constantly on when the car is running. Put a new battery and alternator in this morning, same problem.

I went to Advance and had them check the charging system, the guy said something referring to a low reading on the alternator's charge output.

I left the battery (old one) hooked up in the car overnight, dead the next (this) morning.

Also the brake light is on too, it only brightens when I raise the ebrake handle. Fluid is full, bled brake system last week.

Checked to see if I missed a ground wire somewhere, couldn't find any.

Checked the wiring harness, couldn't find anything out of place.

Do you think this is a short somewhere?

Are any of the wires off the alternator and/or battery hot?
I sounds like you have a short somewhere.
With a good alternator and battery there is no reason why you won't get enough power, unless you have a short some where. And the short will explain why the battery goes dead overnite.

I'm looking for a short now. I noticed the ground wire that is supposed to be on the ignition pack is not there.

Does anyone know where that should connect to?
