Ok, just recently been having some odd charging problems.
Situation: Left my house this last friday, drove with a few friends about 15 miles away...then back, on the way out I noticed my battery gauge was a bit lower than normal, I still went along my way with no problems, on the way back about 5 min away from my exit I hit stopped traffic and at a slow crawling pace my car randomly died with no coughs, sputters etc. took a few min and finally got it started again dropped my friends off then got it home.
The next morning i woke up early, changed my alternator due to having 2 others that I know are good. also checked all of my fuses.. Battery gauge still remained lower than it has in the past. I took my battery into work with me and tested it and fully charged it, came out good. Last night i pulled my fuse box up and traced all the wiring from the battery to the alternator and no problems.
Tonight I let the car sit and idle with the climate controll on full, system up etc. to pull the most possible current that I could to see if the car would die. battery gauge dropped after sitting for 10 min. but did no go below 12.
Other info that might help is that the car has no probem starting fires right up.
anybody have any other ideas on what my problem could be?
