Well im here not cause i own a toyota, but because ill be using toyota parts on my current car and needed to use the search engine and talk to some members to find out info i need. i guess the best way to start is to say a couple years back i blew up my mkii, became homeless, and bought a neon r/t cause it was all i could afford. two year later i absolutely fell in love with my neon. now it has a dodge carivan 2.4L block, eclipse 420A head (contrary to popular belief a neon dohc is not a 420a but very similar), neon cams, pt cruiser gt valvetrain, srt forged rods/pistons, srt cooling system, ford mustang cobra fuel injectors and pump, pt cruiser alternator, saturn ion coolant lines, srt turbofold, and all upgraded bolt ons running nitrous, E85, boost, and MSII+ standalone. well before the turbo when i just had the 2.4 and a 20 shot i ran a 12.7 n/a. now im tired of fwd but have put too much money into my neon, so im using a jeep liberty bell housing which your guys R154 bolts onto and a subaru R200 rear end. so im mainly here for tranny info. i might have it running this upcoming season but being a full time student and putting an 01 legacy EJ22T in my 90 subaru loyale wagon with a 6 inch lift is costing money i dont wanna spend. so im down for hate, im not here to get in the way, just to do some research. if you guys wanna hate, hate, if not, im welcome any information that will help me with this project. heres a few pics
im not gonna start the fabing till a get a tranny, but this is how it looked right before i pulled the engine

Welcome to the mania where if you can't dazzle with experience and facts dazzle with bullshit.

i want excited about driving a neon after a supra, but 1000 dollars got me into the 12's with no boost on street tires and no lsd. thats bang for your buck. and as far as the tranny deal, AMC/AISIN built the transmissions for both chyrsler and toyota so they share simialr bolt patters. im probably going to use a modified srt flywheel, supra clutch disk and a modified jeep pressure plate. i want to try to retain a mech clutch instead of hydrolic

To be perfectly honest I think the hydraulic clutch setup would be the easiest way to go. You don't need to worry about mounts for the cable and an exact length that way.

it might be done by the end of next season. it depends on work/school/student loans lol. being a full time engineering student i spend more time studying than sleeping, so theres not much room for work. everywhere i looked trannies were 800-1000, on here i see them for 300-400, so who knows. im just tinkering around with the eclipse head and gettin ready to get it to work on my block. i could post some pics of my dd, a 90 subaru with a 2" lift and toyota 6 lug conversion and bigger tires. if that interest anybody
