Does anyone have an idea what size the thread porting of the banjo bolt in the back of the head is?

I know it is a 1.5 pitch but do not know the size (thinking either 20mm or 22mm) just need verification!!

Is it straight thread or taper pipe thread? If you remind me i can go to the garage tomorrow and zip it off to verify.

it's a huge ass tap...and so is the easy out you have to use to remove the bolt when it snaps during removal (had the machine shop take it out when the head was redone)

BigAaron

thank alot.

Ok let me let this cat out of the bag ;)

I am swapping every evey every single hose to AN fittings. Before welding an aluminum bung to the head I wanted to see if I could find an AN fitting or ORB fitting that was the same size.

With Aaron answering the answer is sure as shit! :)

Be real careful with that. I tried to use an easyout to get the remainder of that bolt out and CRACKED the head...It was just rebuilt to with port, polish and a 3 angle too:cry: .

If youre having the head done at the machine shop...have them remove it and go get a new one from toyota...their cheap...I would hate to see anyone else go through my nightmare...good luck!

I have a special tool to remove the broken part as it doesn't act as a wedge like an easyout.

Hey IJ.

hope you know that I do not have a broke bolt. Mine came off fine. My post was more so I could find either a ORB hose end or metric to AN fitting, which with the number, I found a perfectly matching ORB fitting.

Funny, that toyota uses what most Dry sump system use natively for back there! ;)

Wayne: No probs it was addressing the post above ;)
(My head was brand new so I got all new hardware for it and use antiseize when I assembled it, I bought the above tool for my old NA way back)

Aaron: LOL it was a case of find that or throw the head away :(

Looking at it I suspected an easyout would crack the head if I tried one so went and visited a local tool place that had someone older than me to ask advice :D
