well yes it has been awhile. car is running great, but in my quest for more power. i enlisted my good friend and crew chief to make me a set of the most baller pistons he could dream up.. here is what he came up with.

Thanks to mark conte @ real street performance for making it happen. i am selling my current block, and building new one with all new stuff. still keeping it a 3.0L

Look like they started life as a set of JEs (based on the skirt and such). Obviously coated.

I would have liked to seen a little better job of matching the quench area. You're going to have a goofy flame front propagation.

Granted, these are the most minor of details. The piston looks like a well designed, solid piece that will withstand severe punishment!

*edit* Hang on, these are 2J pistons. Considering I have no idea what the chamber looks like, ignore my previous remark ;)

The other thing that helps you know they came from JE is they are sitting on the JE shipping paper that says JE all over it. ;) Just messing with you buddy.

The 2J chamber is pretty uniform, I've come to like the inverted dome piston design over the spherical dish. I like to allow the combustion chamber to do all of the work in most 2J applications. Sadly, due to octane requirements for 35-40# of boost and 200-250hp worth of nitrous, a flat top piston wasn't in order, this is merely a recessed flat top at the end of the day obviously with a rather serious crown thickness and ring placement. The valve reliefs make it hard to see that, but that's essentially what it is.

The trained eye will notice a few little toys on the piston that should help Sean's unnecessary thirst for unnecessary amounts of power.

Regards,

Conte

I think that Sean has officially gone off the deep end. Who would bother getting something like that done. Must be :aigo::aigo::aigo:

Oh! Sean btw here's what I use when not driving the supra.

well you guys are focusing on the wrong things. i didnt just get pistons with my SN on them.. they are actually custom pistons, with alot of custom things done to them to help make more power reliably.

having my name on them was just as a surprise to you guys as it was to me.

I'm using a triple coat in my 7M Sean, Ceramic Crown, Moly Skirts and Heat dispersant underneath.

All Techline products.

thats awesome.. did you get the upgraded pin and all that? good luck with the project.

I think it's awesome where your taking your car. Both sets of my clubs are custom btw, I used to be a golfnutt.:aigo::aigo:

thanks. im actually just trying to stay up with the company i keep.. with the guys i hang with im usually the slowest car believe it or not.

but i just want to try a little more compression, help the turbo spool a little faster, then when my other turbo gets here, then that will be great..

I come from a land down under
Sean: Been running this configuration for a couple of years now.

Just using the stock JE pins I'm only very low power but mine gets more of an endurance build. (sustained high speed runs are where my car shines and it will see some track days)

LMAO - Believe it or not, I COMPLETELY missed the fact they were on JE papers. I like the forced pin oiling, the accumulator groove, and what appears to be gas ports around the top ring, but the picture of the bottom of the piston makes me think they AREN'T gas ported - just notches. If that's the case, it seems like that would make it easier to cause the top ring to flutter under high rpm.

Clear that up for us? :)
