Bad Turbo?! Wat should i do?

Here we go again is always something!! lol

Check this out__ When i first bought the car the Ass**** told me the turbo was rebuilt that it only had 1,000 miles stupid me took his word! [the ass**** is nowhere to be Found]

About 1 Year Later.. i neeeded to change the Downpipe/Gasket Something told me to look at the BACK of the Turbo....first thing i notice is a CRACK!! and the Wheel has FREEplay Noticeable Freeplay...

i Dont abuse my car its my Daily, I have the PSi set to 13 since i heard 15Psi is the Max on a Stock CT-26 and 14psi just blows hot air. Right now the car Runs Fine 1. how long can i drive it like this? 2. Would Dirftmotion rebuilt it ?

buy a new turbo or rebuild it. although the exhaust side should be replaced if you are gonna rebuild it.

It might of been rebuilt. The housing may have cracked after. They reuse the housing and the housing are known to crack plus that turbo is 20 years old. You can't rebuild that turbo because the housing is cracked. Need ne housing

I went to this place Called MIKE-Turbo all of my turbo friends go there and they nothing but good feedback! The guy told me $350 for a new exhaust houseing & the rebuild,[Since i have freeplay] Is this worth it??? The only thing is that there not gonna "upgrade" anything on my CT26 just Rebuilt it. I dont have a LexusAFM,550Injectors or S-Afc so going Big turbo or anything of the sort would be piontless. I will go big turbo later on, but right now Funds for the supporting mods are low [Thanzx to college] The one on driftmotion is $650!! But it's a 57trim. I dont have the mods to support a 57 trim. The Supra only has; 3in DP/exhuast, stage2 clutch,MHG/ArpBotls/Walbro Fuel Pump and Intake. Would Do u guys think?? i really dont have $650 for the 57 trim

Eventually are you going to want the upgraded turbo? If so don't waste the 350 dollars on rebuilding the stock one. I would turn the boost down to stock, put the turbo back, and wait until you have the money to get the 57 trim (as long as the wait is not a lengthy one).

I would just buy a used one in your case. $100 is about the norm for a decently shaped CT26 that will give you something to drive till you get supporting mods. Hell, it'll save you money if you decide to upgrade it later compared to your cracked one.

how long do u think i can drive the supra with my current Turbo Condition? i havent hit boost in the past 2 days lol im scared to do so...i really wasnt planning on upgrade the TUrbo i wanted to get some Rims/Coilovers but the Turbo comes first since it's my Daily

That s typical for a crack there and it doesn't hurt anything. How much free play does it have? Can you push the wheel to one side and does the wheel blades scrap the side of the housing?

So the crack doesn't mean anything??? The freeplay isn't bad but You can notice it & it doesn't scrap the sides of the houseing....The blade in the front doesn't move at all it's just the blade on the exhuast houseing that moves...Since im short on Funds. How Much life does theTurbo Have left??? Before i notice the freeplay/Crack The Turbo Sounded and Drove Fine... Does Freeplay&Cracks Come from TurboSurge???

The blade in the front doesn't move at all it's just the blade on the exhuast houseing that moves...
They are connected by a solid shaft? muzy
