To all those that have helped me and those I met at TX2K8 thanks you guys were a great help. The time has come now though for me to back away from the Supras for now (not sure how long), I could officially take home the title of slower mk3 supra, however repairs and parts just to attempt to get it running for TX2K8 ran me over my money supply and now im to broke to put any money into the car. So it will be parked and put under a cover until funds allow me to work on it again if ever as most of the money was loaned to me by my dad so it will take me forever to pay him back 1.5K on a measly $5.85hr salary not to mention I only get to keep about $120 of what I make. Once again thanks for all the help you've given me SupraMania and to those I met, thanks for the advice!

You can continue to read the boards. I sold my second Supra in my early 20's. It wasn't economically feasable to keep it.

Wanting to go fast.
Broke.
Supra.

One of those can't go with the other two. Guess which one?

So if you just spent 1.5K on getting it running for the meet, what else does it need? If the car is running, just continue to drive it, but don't fall to the peer pressure to be a faster car than everything on the road that the community sometimes portrays. Drive it sensibly until you get a better job, and can afford to do what you want with the car.

It isn't peer pressure at all my car set off the knock sensor and then fell victim to a boost leak after the lower intercooler hose or something made a hole. I need a replacement AFM, new or better intercooler hoses, Sub o2 sensor, new knock sensors (mine keep putting me in limp mode), new catalytic converter, new downpipe (won't pass inspection), probabaly a new coil pack or spark plug wires and figure out why my car is running so damn rich or lean considering on the way back doing 40mph on I-10 shooting 2ft flames out the exhaust. Everything ran fine until the morning for the meet half way there.

*Truly I just want this satan infested car running, like it should. I don't care about being the fastest I just want a running supra that I can have fun with and get me to work so my dad doesn't have to drive me all the time.

This is good advise! Park and cover the car for now until you can afford to fix it. In the meantime, steadily read the boards, and get an idea what is wrong with your car, what you need to fix it, what it will cost, and exactly how to fix it. It may take you a while to find what you need, but if you spend the time it takes, it's all right here somewhere. Once you find it, re-read the how to part on how to, over and over until you have the money to do it. That way when you finally can, it will be like you have done it before.

Don't back away from the community, it is here to HELP YOU make your car be everything it can be. Post questions, and don't get you feelings hurt when you get something other than your answer. Word your questions to let the reader know your position so they will understand before making a snide remark, you are pretty good at that already. From what I have read here, I have figured out that you are PROBABLY really young, don't make a lot of money, and have very little mechanical experience. This is not a good position for a Supra owner, but it can be cured. Things change, and your Supra will definitely get you some experience. You just need to increase you knowledge by staying in the community, and have the money to do what you learn. I started in this community in much the same shape. Things do change, have patience.

You seriously need to find a better paying job!

What he said... I kid you not man my very first job was at a Winn-dixie grocery store being a cashier/bagger at the age of 15 and I was started off making 6.15 an hour. Talk about a summer job!!

LOL than I worked at a summer amusement park making 300 a week and I was able to ride the bumper boats all day long along with catching up on a good tan!

I'm not saying the area of the U.S. I live in has a great economy because simply it's the worse I know of but dang man you've been had. Most employers figure ah well he's young and stupid with no experience so will pay him the absolute minimum wage!

Dude, Justin is right. He's not a real long trip down I-10 from Houston too. I know Houston is a little closer to Mexico, and plenty of cheap labor, but it can't be that bad everywhere. I'm another hour down I-10 from him, and I just passed a McDonalds that was hiring and paying $8/hr. There is better pay out there. Keep beatin the streets til you can find one of them.
