Well

The board that you are looking at. The Round things standing up on it are the Capacitors we are talking about. If you can see it in the picture there is a bunch of brown stuff under one of the Capacitors. When this happens. The Cap has gone bad basically. It has leaked out its contents

Thanks for the explanation Bob. Even with that though its hard to see that in your pic. But I did see that in a pic that Matt posted in your other thread. I didnt realize capacitors could leak.

Allot of people don't know that and in many cases they never do.

More and more new products no longer have any capacitors. Manufacturers did it on a technology / cost basis.

My Camera just doesn't have a close focal point so its hard to take [ictures up close

you sure that brown stuff is not just the glue they use to hold the caps in place? lol. i know bose uses those to keep their caps from moving on their circuit boards.

kay, just checking. couldn't tell from the blurry pic- you should change the camera setting to "close-up" when you're taking pics that close

my car is doing this too, so i bought a new ecu. haven't tried it yet to see if that fixed it but i will in a few days.

it all started after this shop that replaced my clutch didn't reconnect my tranny ground... should've just done it myself

Well i figured i would try running the car now with the bad Cap and no TechTom

It seemed to be running ok as far as the backfiring is concerned

Just very slight small very small sounding back fire when above 3K

Now the Car Idles between 300 - 500 RPM ?????

My Alt shows 12.5V when the car is idling this low, when i get it up to 1K then i see 14V. Is it a bad alt as well?

yeah mine does the low idle thing too and acts like it's going to stall, then the rpm goes up then goes down and tries to stall again etc, etc. when i turn the air on the idle comes up and smooths out though. (yeah i know why)

well the fan thing did not work for me but this time

When i started the car up everything was perfect no backfire, idle was dead on and 14.3V from the Alt, I have a Apexi TT When i went to turn the car off, the timer just shut off right away instead of letting the car idle, it is set for a specific time ????

Then i tried starting the car again, Bad idle, low voltage, Backfiring/missing a bit when revving above 2K?????????????

Checked the ECU again still just the one Blown Capacitor.

i am at a bit of a low on this one. It works and runs perfectly then shut it off, and it does not run right??? :(

My first ECU was shitty also, got a new one and bam its all good. Now i buy every good JZA70 5 speed ECU i can find, so if it happens again i wont have down time to wait for it to get fixed.

I will also buy your bad ones!
