Available Room for fuel Cell

Been looking at Aeromotive fuel cells lately and the Stealth series looks great for a 2JZ powered MKIII, that I plan on making. I dont want to mess around with the stock pump and rusty straps so I was wondering what space is available for a fuel cell in the stock location ?

Stealth 6 Gallon tank : 12″L x 12″W x 10″H
Stealth 15 Gallon tank : 18″L x 20″W x 10″H

Dont have a car here to measure, but I'm not sure whether to go for the 6 Gallon for lightness or the 15 gallon one for range.

If the 15 will fit.. go with that. When you go racing just race with a half tank. Problem solved.

Think about it though. 6 gallons.. 20 mpg. Only 120 mile range.

Agreed, you can always put the total amount of fuel you'll want for racing. Who knows what if its a longer track race? Then you can fill it up to prevent more stops for fuel too.

I always wondered about removing the whole hatch floor and integrating a fuel cell into the back, and eliminating the spare tire area...?

What if you patched the center of the spare tire area, clean and resprayed it and then welded a big sheet of metal over the spare tire area and using that as a tank?

What kind of racing are you doing? I sumped my stock tank with a pan that has dual 1/2 inch outlets that I use to feed twin bosch 044's and I put a -6 return in the top where the fuel pump used to be.

Well, what I was asking was will either fit in the stock location ?

If anybody has a tank out, and a tape measurer, I would thank you kindly...

The small one will fit in the stock location. The large one would fit if you cut out the spare tire well and welded in a flat floor.
