didn't know where to put this, so i threw it in O/T, but as stated...autozone clutches cannot withstand more than 300 tq.... (hey, i'm a cheap bastard, and my stock clutch was toast :biglaugh: )

so, i raced a 350z again tonight... this time from a stop... honk three times, and i lauch at 2,500 rpm... i tried to modulate the clutch, eventally letting off clompletely... it wasn't grabbign at ALL, so after about a second, i just let off the throttle completely. later on after driving a while, i tried to launch from 2.5k rpms again w/ same results, drove around some more and tried to launch from 3k w/ same results:icon_conf guess when i take the tranny out for a re-build (will be very soon as syncro's do NOT work) i'll go w/ a better clutch.

anyone have a good suggestion for a good street clutch capable of holding about 450 tq? (should be making 400-425 tq in about 3-4 months)

I paid 97 bucks for my stock replacement and it works great...at least on stock NA performance. If it was for anything other than a stock DD NA, I would have gotten a better one.

cuz when I think performance, I think autozone (hopefully you can feel the dripping sarcasm).

Dude when its something like and engine part or a clutch I'd spend the extra and get an ACT or something good. but money is hard to come by so I can understand but ya should have seen it coming, better luck next time man.

I was gonna pick one up off supradan22 (?) on here for like 40 bucks or something and test the shit out of it and do a write up here.

I was gonna see how long it was before it gave out on me. Look like you spoiled all my fun!

No surprise there!:icon_razz I would have given you my slipping Spec Stage II, and you would have done better! I paid almost $500.00 for it, and found out it wouldn't hold the power on ET streets and 19psi! I'm now on another $500.00 Spec, this time it's a Stage III, 6-puck! So far, so good.:icon_bigg You get what you pay for though. There are some places, you just flat out cannot cut corners.

update... now about 2.5k miles into usage :D... the clutch doesn't hold well at all uder WOT in 1st, 4th or 5th... LOTS of slippage, and this is shiffting at or before 6k rpms, and shifting mighty conservatively, i might add... just think it's kinda funny... but i'll wait till it no longer works PERIOD until i get a new clutch... any recomendations btw? need a good clutch to hold about 425 tq (current numbers are around 330 tq, but that will change soon enough) :D

If you are reusing your flywheel dont drive around with a bad clutch.
My old stocker messed up my flywheel and even after turning/machining it there was still pits and a large groove on the surface.

I like to "get in the zone", they're better the Pep Bitches or Krapgen.
lol.... they're cheap... that's it... if i actually had money to spare... trust me, it would be spent elsewhere, lol... like i said... highschool + engine swap = NO money (when i got the clutch)
