and..?

who gives a fuck?

Do you really want prices of MK3's to start going up?

if they do, most of us would sell and move on, the main reason MK3's are fun platforms, is cause they're relatively cheap to purchase..

Joe - I also think you aren't looking at it in multiple perspectives.

You DO have a standing point, but as stated, for probably every MKIV getting scraped/molested/crushed, there are probably 10-15 MKIII's getting crushed. Tough? Think about it. MKIII's get crushed DAILY...I cannot say I've actually watched a clean MKIV SHELL get crushed (although I'm sure it's happened).

And just for the record, Joe...

In 1989 - 14,544 MA70 & MA71 Supra's were sold in the US.

From 1992 ('93 model) to 1998, In the US, there were 15,356 JZA80's manufactured.

So...Although close, there were more MKIV's than 89 MKIII's. :icon_wink

Ok. So let's say Supras started appreciating by a significant amount. who's going to buy them? You guys?

Price is dictated by the buyer and the majority of people, MK3 owners included, say most of them are worth lint and buttons.
ok, lets say it was your car...its very nice, almost in mint condition.....if you were ever to sell it wouldn't you try to get what it was worth to you? maybe not as extreme as 29k....
and whoever posted that they were only desired to kids, thats not fully true, even though mine has bodywork done....I have had numerous people over 30 ask if I would be willing to sell it, one even up to 12,000$ and yes he was serious....and mine is a N/A.

until demand > supply prices will remain rock bottom

that won't happen for a very long time seeing as there are similar substitutes for the mkiii.

so give it another 20-30 years and these cars might be worth something.

its obviously a missprint its supposed to be 92,000 dollars.

but honestly if he finds the right buyer, he could get the money for it, thats al there is to it. If some one REALY WANTS THAT CAR, and doesnt want one that is like most of ours he will probably get his money for it :D.

If I had enough, I would deffinitely offer him 25K for it, no joke guys. That car is MINT. I would keep it, redo the HG on the engine and change out anything mechanically that needed to be replaced (not much by my guess, maybe the hoses), and keep that baby locked up and covered most of the time. That car will be worth lots down the road if it stays in that condition with that many miles on it.

I think the priciest (is that a word?) MK3 I have seen here in the uk is about £5k which is about $9-10k and that was a clean car with 40,000 miles on it. No way would anyone in there right mind pay that sort of money for a MK3. A 1988 toyota MR2 was recently up on ebay for £13,000 ($25,000) but that had 13 miles on the clock (delivery miles) and had never been out of the Toyota showroom.

No one will ever pay $20,000 for a A70.

That car, maybe he could get 8k for.

The A70 had nothing special going for it to make it collectable or special.

Its a Niche car, It will be bought by people looking for a cheap car and enthusiasts.

click on the model info tag and it says Base MSRP $25,200 :stickpoke

Keep in mind that $25K in 1987 would be about $47K Now A days for a brand New one (and that was the Base MSRP). The actual value is still less then the purchase price if you factor in value and inflation rates. Back in 1987 People only made Small Salaries well most people anyhow. so $25K for a Sports Car was asking for allot of Cash.

For Example a Brand New 1990 Acura Integra Ls was $14K Base MSPR Half the Price of the Supra

A Corvette in 1990 was $59K MSRP
A 1986 Dodge Ram Truck Was $9K MSRP
A 1985 Pontiac Trans AM Was $12K
1988 Chev Camaro Coupe Was $13K
Nissan 300ZX TT was $33K
A 1987 MR2 was $13K

Get where i am going with this, people seem to Forget the Value of things thinking that the price of things never changed and that people make more money per hour now.
