I had a thread in the Oil and Lube sub section but i feel this is off topic from that thread. Im looking for pics of mounting locations to mount a tranny cooler. Now ive got stock IC and Oil Cooler, i still have AC, my foglamps in place, and ive got a 11x11x1.5" tranny cooler. The only viable spot is in front of the IC covering roughly a 1/3 of it. Now IJ and jdub explained heat transfer to me and that in front of the IC may not be a good spot. So im looking for other options. I tried to see if i could mount it behind the IC but it wouldnt fit. So pics and suggestions please. Also i know in front of the IC is not a good idea but what about temporarily until i upgrade my intercooler, and that will give me access to adjust and move things around the way i see fit. Comments on that please.

Thanks

It isn't untypical that they get mounted in front of the radiator and condensor. Perhaps yours came with mounts that are long straight plastic pieces that mount through the fins. That is where the airflow is afterall.

So assuming you did it this way. Unbolted the Condeser fan and moved it aside to slide the cooler in place, run the lines and strap it down, before replacing everything again? No spacers needed? 19mm = ~0.75 inches. My cooler is 38mm thick.

The condenser, is the radiator looking thing, in front of the radiator.
I think IJ is talking about removing the radiator and placing it in front of the rad. Then reinstalling the rad.
Hence, between the radiator and condenser.

You could try, but that doesn't leave allot of room to work. Plus rads are easy to remove, two bolts, two hoses (four if your auto), and the lower fan shroud, done.
