Automatic shifting

I have a 1988 supra turbo automatic with a tundra transmission every now and then when im driving and the car is hot it does not want to shift into gears and i have to pull over and turn the engine off or keep driving to get it to stop help me please

So it overheats and won't up shift? Or is it slipping. That is when you increase engine speed, but not vehicle speed.

when driving for awhile and the engine is nice and hot for a long distance it doesent want to shift to the next gear the car slowes down and i have to hit the accelerator or put it into neutral to make it go again this happens every now and then

A Tundra Transmission??? Is there something I missed about autos???
