When you convert to a 5spd you have 2 common choices, W58, R154. The w58 comes with the n/a supras and the R154 comes with the turbo supras. Both transmissions will fit on a 7m supra turbo or not. Some people have had great luck running W58's on turbo supras, others say that theyve blown them up in a matter of weeks. Unless you already bought a tranny i reccommend using an R154 as it was designed to handle the extra power of a turbo car.

A stock boost 7mgte will be fine on the auto with a decent cooler and fresh oil treated with some compassion. lol. if you upgrade turbo or run high boost you may be up for a rebuild on the a340 which if done properly will hold good h.p, just ask IJ.
