im swapping an auto car to manual.the car im putting this into is a 89' turbo,and the car im pulling it from is a 87' turbo. and im swapping the entire engine and tranny from one to the other. will the plugs behind the dash plug into the pre 89' wiring harness? if not what is the easier way to do it rather than swapping over the entire dash harness with it? need to know asap,as im pullin the engine out,and dropping the other in tomorow. tyia

so is there a way to make the 89' auto harness work with the manual trans? since both of the engines are gte's the engine harness should be the same correct?
I have the interior wiring harness out of an auto 89' if you are in need of it. It's the harness that runs all the way across the dash. So, I'm pretty sure it has the clips that plug from the engine harness. I'm on vacation till monday so I can't verify it right now. If you do want it, I'll do $50 shipped. PM me if I can help out.

It's probably possible. I think you're going to have a hard time trying to find a definite answer for this one.
Most people would just use everything needed for the swap from the donar car.
I think your gonna run into trouble (during the swap and after) trying to mix electronics from both cars. You're trying to reinvent the wheel on this one.

this is basically what im asking, can i use an auto harness on a manual trans? i know on the nissan sr20's you can use the auto wiring,just didnt use a couple plugs! i kno i kno. this isnt nissan,but will it work the same?
if not,ill have to swap over all the pre 89' stuff... i have no problem putting on the 89' engine harness...just didnt want to have to pull the DASH wiring if i had to use the pre 89 dash harness to match the pre 89 engine harness.
